Client: Robodoc for Curexo Technology Corp., Fremont

The ROBODOC Surgical System is founded upon two groundbreaking technologies. The ORTHODOC software allows surgeons to pre-plan hip and knee replacement surgeries down to the smallest detail. Then the ROBODOC, a robotic medical device, carries the plan out with unparalleled precision and accuracy.

The ROBODOC team was looking for GUI proposals in anticipation of a systems upgrade for the medical device's operating screens. I developed a wire map including sample graphics and layout for the user interface. Operators of the ROBODOC are doctors, nurses, and clinical technicians from all over the world. The usability of the device needed to bridge a language gap and the intent was to use icons, diagrams, and motion graphics to do that. I created visual markers which I dubbed "progress dots" to also be an aid in successfully completing each stage of the operating process.
